A sober motorcycle riding club based in the Chippewa Valley. We ride clean, we ride together, and we don't leave anybody behind — on the road or in recovery.
You don't need a program, a sponsor, or a specific path to hang around Broken Chains RC — you just need to be sober while you're with us. Come to a ride, come to an event, get to know the guys. There's no clock running and no sobriety minimum to be part of that.
When you're ready to prospect, that's a different bar — and it's a real one. Here's exactly how it works.
No sobriety length requirement to be part of the club socially. Attend rides and events, meet the members, see if it's a fit. The only rule: you're sober while you're with us. Every time.
Prospecting begins once you've hit 1 month of continuous sobriety. You'll need a sponsor from the full membership, and you're expected to show up, ride, and demonstrate your character and commitment.
A minimum of 6 months. If you haven't reached 1 year of continuous sobriety yet, you keep prospecting until you do — even if that runs past 6 months. Either way, 1 full year sober is required before patching.
After your prospect period, the table votes. It's earned at the table, in front of the brothers you'll be riding with.
Full membership is open to men 21 and older with regular access to a motorcycle 500cc or greater. Women are welcome as supporters and at rides and events.
Every requirement here comes straight from Article II of the club Bylaws. Ask any officer for the full document if you want to read it start to finish.
Broken Chains RC is built around a simple idea: recovery is easier with people who ride with you through it, not just talk about it in a room once a week. Sobriety milestones get marked the same way road miles do — with a coin, a patch, and people who notice.
Membership doesn't require a program, a sponsor, or a specific path — it requires showing up sober and staying that way. What you use to get there and stay there is yours to define.
